THE WINE
Constantia Royale is a limited production Sauvignon Blanc made from grapes grown on the 17-hectare, family-owned farm of Nova Zonnestraal in the beautiful Constantia Valley. The Don’s Reserve, a superior blend, adds another dimension to our wine portfolio. This wine has received excellent reviews both locally and abroad.
THE TUNNEL
Wine tastings are offered in our unusual location: a tunnel under the M3 freeway. We call this our “hidden gem” and are open for tastings on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Taste current and older vintages of Constantia Royale, and the Don’s Reserve for R100 p/p. This is also where we store our wine.
THE FARM
Nova Zonnestraal itself dates back to the 1700’s when it formed part of Alphen Estate. Today, the 17-hectare farm concentrates on the growing of grapes and olives, alongside its top equestrian yard which has produced some exceptionally talented show jumpers. It is our hope that our seven hectares of Sauvignon Blanc flanked by olive groves and paddocks, may also prove itself a winner in the making.
